Diarist & Inspiration

Charles F. Snell was a corporal with Company D of the Third Maine Infantry Regiment. He was born in Dedham, Massachusetts, in 1843, and joined the Third Maine while visiting his older brother in Bath, Maine. Charles was just 18 years old when he joined and kept a diary of his nearly four years with the Third Maine. Charles left behind his words instead of social media and those words inspired this project.
